A projekt az első romániai longitudinális reprezentatív vizsgálat, amelyet a serdülők felnőttkorba való átmenetét hivatott felmérni,(figyelembevéve a jelentős demográfiai tényezőket valamint azokat a társadalmi kontextusokat, erőforrásokat és rizikófaktorokat amelyek hozzájárulnak a serdülőknek a fiatal felnőtt státuszba való sikeres átmenetében. Mint módszer, az interakciós élethossz-perspektívát és az életút-perspektívát vettük alapúl. A projekt első hulláma (adatgyűjtés disszeminálás) 2011-2013-as időszakban valósult meg amelyben 33 település (megye) 70 középiskola, 219 osztály tanulója vett részt (N=3509). Ezen belül többek között, vizsgáltuk az (1) iskolai teljesítményt, attitűdöket, szociális támaszt, (2) a családi kapcsolatokat, légkört, támogatást, a családon belüli bántalmazást és erőszakot, (3) testi és mentális egészséget, (4) a szexuális identitást, viselkedést, terhesség megelőzést (5) kockázati magatartások és rizikót jelentő környezeti tényezőket (függőségek, szegénység, bandák), (6) a stresszes események, és megküzdési mechanizmusok kapcsolatát, a (7) fiatalok értékrendjét, munkához való hozzáállását, jövőbeli tervek, oktatási törekvéseket .
A kutatás második hullámában (2014-2016) amelyben a lemorzsolódás 35%-s volt, felmértük a felnőttkor markereinek klasszikus értelembe vett kritériumait (szülői ház elhagyása, házasság, családalapitás, korai terhesség) a foglalkozás és munka területen az oktatási rendszerből való kilépést, a továbbtanulás és munkavállalás velejáróit, a különböző társadalmi-gazdasági kockázati tényezők (szegénység szociális státusz.) hatásait. Kimeneti változóként felmértük a (1) mentális egészséget és életminőséget a (2) szubjektív boldogság érzést és elégedettséget a személyes kompetencia szinteket és én hatékonyságot, (3) a szociális készségeket, az intimitás és a kötődés képességét mint az egészséges párkapcsolatok kialakításának háttértényezőit (4) a hagyományos értékek iránti elkötelezettséget, és az erkölcsi értékek szerinti cselekvés képességét, (5) a problémás rizikós és deviáns viselkedések elkerülését mint a sikeres és boldog élet velejáróit és ugyanakkor előrejelzőit. A projektet PN-II-ID-PCE-2011-3-0543, Prof. Roth, Mária vezette. A projekt a tanügy minisztérium, UEFSCID finanszírozásával valósulhatott meg. A projekt eredményeit közel 100 tudományos publikációban mutattuk be és az adatok további feldolgozás alatt állnak.
